BIPOC Resources
I’m writing to you as a Black woman. As a Black griever. And as the BIPOC Grief Educator and Care Curator for The Dinner Party. I don’t know about you, but I am CRAVING inspiration. I am YEARNING for joy and I am searching for PEACE in all of the headlines. I know that I’m not alone in this, and so I am curating this space for the weary BIPOC griever who is in need of art and literary inspiration, motivating words from the mouths of BIPOC visionaries and more.
This won’t erase the collective trauma our community is wading through, but it will perhaps offer a reprieve.
- Sundari Malcolm | Former BIPOC Grief Educator and Care Curator

The Death of My Two Fathers by Director Sol Guy. This film is a deeply personal journey of facing that which we often fear most: death and ourselves. By bearing witness to the reality of his father's life, and death, Sol Guy unpacks the meaning of fatherhood, family, race, and identity to realize that we must all face where we come from in order to be more prepared for who we may become.

Emotion Thru Motion is a quarterly event we’ve been doing for 3 years, dedicating 2 hours of wellness and collective care to the BIPOC community and inviting inspiring BIPOC facilitators to come share their gifts and knowledge. Hear former BIPOC Grief Educator and Care Curator, Sundari Malcolm set a collective intention and welcome the group to one of our installments of Emotion Thru Motion, back in December 2022.

Looking for some more support?
Fear of losing your grief support should never be a reason you endure harm. We're continuing to do our best to make sure that our tables and events feel safe and supportive. We've created an email address, bipocsupport@thedinnerparty.org, monitored by BIPOC staff only, that's available for you if you are ever:
1) The victim of racial harm
2) The witness or observer of an incidence of racial harm
Thank you in advance for your dedication to the care of our community.
