a dear friend of mine has been going through a helluva time for the last six months: she emerged from a brutal break-up, only to lose her mom earlier this summer, following a five year fight with cancer. so we did the only thing we could: we dragged out the dining room table, cooked an absurd amount of food, and called in a pack of girlfriends.   i’ll be the first to admit that roasted beets with hazelnut vinaigrette and burrata, scarlet quinoa, and shrimp and mango ceviche (to name but a few of the dishes served) can’t cure everything. but i suspect there’s nothing they can’t cure for a night.
